Why Remediate : Transforming Healthcare Waste into Healing Hope
In a world where healthcare is paramount, the environmental impact of medical waste cannot be ignored. Shocking statistics reveal that 85% of healthcare waste is non-hazardous, equivalent to domestic waste. This mounting waste crisis necessitates urgent action. A recent CBC News report underscores the benefits of recycling medical supplies, from cost savings to preventing shortages during pandemics.
Our Goals
Raise Awareness: Increase awareness about the issue of medical waste and its environmental and social implications.
Facilitate Connections: Connect hospitals and clinics with organizations that collect surplus and unused medical equipment for redistribution to underserved communities.

ReMediate is a passionate initiative led by Malavika S Nair, a senior at Frisco Highschool, dedicated to the belief that every piece of medical equipment can find a second life. Our journey began with the idea of being advocates for the environment and for those in need.
